“Floyd the Ford’ as we like to call it was a labor of love. I couldn’t find that perfect family van that was easy to drive, safe, and of course comfortable for our family of four so I decided to design and build one. I’m 6 foot 1 inch tall and I wanted a bed that could fit my wife and I comfortably, plus an area where our children could sleep so we could make those long lasting memories. Up top, we have a 72 wide x 68 long mattress, down below we have a 48 wide x 72 long mattress and we also have a platform for the bench seat for those that are willing to work through additional set up that that can fit a child comfortably. So plenty of options depending on your family makeup. Doors, walls and ceilings are fully insulated with 3m Thinsulate. Floors are also insulated. All walls and floor are built with high quality Baltic birch, delivering mild temperatures and a quiet van.   We added Maxx air fan ventilation and a propane powered water heater for warm outdoor showers. The van also comes with hanging bag storage to keep the space clean and organized. Floyd has a 10ft Fiama awning for a shaded outdoor experience. Two 100w roof mounted solar panels keep 200 amps of lithium ion batteries fully powering a Dometic dual zone refrigerator, interior lights and plenty of USB charging ports.
